YOUR GO-TO GUIDES FOR BEST CROATIA DAY TRIPS

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best day trips in Croatia?
Croatia has so many excellent day trips, both within the country and to neighbouring countries. I would say the best day trips are the islands and the national parks, but there are also several small towns, attractions, and nature highlights that are perfect for a day trip.
Which Croatian cities are best bases for day trips?
The ultimate best base for day trips is Split. Split has perfect connections to islands, incredible small coastal towns, historical sites, and national parks. You can easily take 5 to 7 day trips from Split, and they’d all be incredible. I also think Dubrovnik and Makarska offer great day trips, as well as Zadar!
Can you do day trips in Croatia without a car?
Absolutely. You can see plenty of islands for a day by ferry, or you can book organised day-trip tours, which are usually around or under 50 euros, so you don’t need a car to see popular day trip destinations.
What are the best day trips from Dubrovnik?
Dubrovnik has several excellent day trip options, but my favourites would be Korcula Island, Lopud Island, Kotor (Montenegro), Mostar (Bosnia), and Peljesac. They’re all linked above!
What are the best day trips from Split?
Are there good island day trips in Croatia?
There are plenty of great island day trips in Croatia. The islands are the best of Croatia, so I’d suggest visiting as many as you can. Here are all the islands you can visit from Split and from Korcula.
Can you visit national parks in Croatia as a day trip?
Yes, all Croatian national parks are perfect for a day trip, and most of them even have organised tours if you don’t have a car. I’d highly recommend Plitvice Lakes as a day trip from Zagreb, Krka National Park as a day trip from Sibenik, Split, or Zadar, Mljet as a day trip from Korcula or Dubrovnik, and Brijuni as a day trip from anywhere in Istria.
