I’m planning a trip to Croatia this summer for our family of five, starting in Dubrovnik and ending in Split. I’m looking at flight options, and it looks like we can save a decent amount of $$$ to fly home from Zadar instead of Split.
Google Maps says the Zadar airport is about an hour and a half from the center of Split while the Split airport is about 30 minutes away.
Are those distances about right, and is there any reason I shouldn’t do this? The transfer to the airport will cost more but the flight savings are really significant. Just want to make sure there’s nothing I’m missing.
Hey, you are not missing anything just add additional hour buffer to be sure in summer months as there can be large congestion on the road or accident or similar so you plan in advance when you need to leave for the airport. The airport in Zadar is small and right outside the city so getting from highway to it will be easy. I dont see a reason not to do it, only thing I must repeat check the traffic before going so you wont be late for the plane, thats all.
Check the guide for driving from Dubrovnik to Split for great things to sightsee along the way.
