we will be driving in a rental car from Budva to Cavtat and will stay in Cavtat for 2-nites before we fly back home out of Dubrovnik airport. My question is:Â
shld we keep our rental car while in Cavtat? Or better to return it and just rely on public transit to go around town in these 2 days? We won’t be going anywhere else - just Cavtat Â
thank you in advance for helpful comments / advice.Â
Hey, so for Cavtat you really don't need a car, whole Cavtat is walkable even if you are bit further from the city center/marina. Only benefit to keeping the car is that if your accommodation has free parking it might be cheaper to keep the car so you can reach the airport on your own without a taxi. I wouldn't go with the car to Dubrovnik tbh, rather take a ferry from Cavtat marina or a bus, the taxi boat is amazing, with views and very enjoyable.Â
Heres some great info on Cavatat:

Also it would be great to have a car if you will be doing any day trips to a beach on Peljesac or Ston, but if not and you dont have free parking it would be better to return the car, if you have free parking and can just leave the car at your accommodation this will be great as you can add a day trip or even not a day trip but to head out to a rural restaurant 20 minutes away like Koraceva Kuca for lunch or dinner.
