MY TOP 10 LUXURIOUS ACTIVITIES IN DUBROVNIK YOU NEED TO TRY OUT (2026)!
If you want to treat yourself and try some truly luxurious and special activities in Dubrovnik, this is my list of favourites as a local!
One thing is certain about Dubrovnik, you’ll enjoy it even more if you can afford a few luxury experiences. It’s not a cheap city and isn’t especially budget-friendly (though it can be done!), so if you’re planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip and have some money to spend, it’s worth spending it wisely.
I’ve spent many months each year in Dubrovnik over the past five years, and in this post, I’ll share the best activities you can try to experience summer in southern Croatia in the best possible way. Keep reading!

DUBROVNIK: Where is it, what to do there, and is it expensive?
Dubrovnik is Croatia’s most popular and most beautiful city in the south of the country. It’s one of Europe’s most sought-after summer destinations, and every year, tourists gather there in large numbers.
There are plenty of things to do in and around Dubrovnik, so you won’t have any trouble filling a 5- or even 7-day itinerary. Many activities can be done on your own, but some are simply better with a guide or as part of a tour. While some tours can be quite affordable, special or private experiences are often more expensive.
If you have a bigger budget, you’ll have no problem enjoying Dubrovnik to the fullest, and this list is exactly what you need. These are some of my absolute favourite activities that may cost a bit more, but are truly worth it!

TOP 10 LUXURIOUS ACTIVITIES IN DUBROVNIK
Romantic Sunset Sailing Adventure
There is nothing better than taking a short boat trip in Dubrovnik. You’ll get to feel the wind in your hair and see Dubrovnik’s city walls from the outside in one evening activity! This trip is completely private, it’s just you and your friends on a boat with your own skipper. The skipper will take care of the boat and all you have to do is relax and enjoy the best sunset you will ever see!
Dinner in the Sky
If you like adrenaline and fine dining, this is the perfect activity for you. You’ll get to experience something truly extraordinary as you’re suspended high above the gorgeous Adriatic coast. You’ll enjoy a delicious three-course meal expertly prepared by a chef right before your eyes. All the while, take in breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of Dubrovnik. This is an activity you really shouldn’t miss!

Dubrovnik Gastronomy: 3-Hour Food and Wine Tour
If you’re more of a foodie, I have a great recommendation for you! This food and wine tour is made for people who want to experience Dubrovnik’s Old Town while snacking on some traditional specialties and enjoying a glass of wine. If you choose this activity you will visit four different restaurants in Dubrovnik and sample some of their best food specialties. I need to mention that Croatian cuisine is VERY meat-oriented, so this won’t be the best option for vegans.
Private Elafiti Archipelago Cruise
Elafiti Archipelago is one of the most special places you can visit near Dubrovnik. The Archipelago consists of several islands, the big three being Lopud, Sipan, and Kolocep. This private tour will take your group of friends to swim and snorkel in some of the most beautiful parts of the Adriatic sea. You will also get to explore the islands which are as special as Dubrovnik. Since this is a private tour it’s totally up to you what you will visit, how long you will stay, or what you will do. Your skipper will listen to all your wishes. This tour always sells out so snatch it while you can!

Montenegro Private Full-Day Tour from Dubrovnik
If you’re up to visiting some neighbouring countries, I have a few activities for you. The first one is this private tour to Montenegro. While it might not be on Dubrovnik’s level, the coastal cities of Montenegro are extremely unique and beautiful, and totally worth the visit.
There are only a few places in Europe that can compare to the beauty of the Bay of Kotor. The combination of the beautiful old town of Kotor and the stunning nature will sweep you off your feet. Kotor has incredible medieval churches, castles, and museums which will also bring you closer to the history of Montenegro. I would highly recommend visiting Montenegro, and this is one of the most comfortable options!
From Dubrovnik: Mostar & Kravice Waterfalls Private Tour
If you’re up for something different, you can always visit Bosnia! Mostar is a favourite day trip spot for many tourists as it’s quite close to Dubrovnik, but the cultures are worlds apart. Mostar will introduce you to some of the best Islamic architecture in the Balkan part of Europe. Kravica waterfalls are also incredible to see, especially if you don’t have time to visit Krka or Plitvice in Croatia. Another thing that will delight you is Bosnian food, definitely stay for lunch and try their incredible cevapi!

Private Full-Day Wine Tour from Dubrovnik to Peljesac
Croatia is very proud of its local wineries and those are especially popular in the south of the country. It would be a shame if you missed them. Peljesac is the place with most vineyards and wineries in Croatia. On this tour you get to visit three different family-owned wineries and try over 15 different types of wine. You’ll be able to buy wine for a discounted price and have a lovely lunch on your way back to Dubrovnik.
History and Game of Thrones Locations Tour
If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you surely know that Dubrovnik was used as a set for King’s Landing. Many tours take you around Dubrovnik and show you where it was filmed, but I would definitely recommend this one. This is a very unique way of seeing Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Your tour guide will introduce you to all significant parts of Dubrovnik. They will then explain their historical importance and put them into the context of Game of Thrones. The tour lasts 2 hours and you’ll get the feeling of being one of the characters for sure! If you’d like to do a self-guided tour, read my guide about 10 GoT locations you need to see in Dubrovnik!

From Dubrovnik: Mljet National Park & Elaphiti Islands
If you want to visit one of Croatia’s most beautiful national parks, this is the perfect activity for you. This boat tour is going to take you to Mljet island, which is also one of Croatian national parks, known for its incredible natural beauty. You’ll get to experience the island on the boat ride, as well as through biking, snorkeling, and swimming. Together with Mljet, you’ll visit the Odysseus cave and cliff jump, as well as the Blue cave and snorkel. This tour is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy in Croatian crystal-clear, turquoise sea!
Dubrovnik: Kojan Koral ATV Quad Safari
My last recommendation is another adrenaline-filled activity. With this one, you get to explore the wild nature of the Konavle region while driving an ATV. Prepare to get dirty and muddy riding over 4 different terrains: mountains, rivers, swamps, and forests. At the end of your tour you will get the chance to visit the village of Cilipi, and enjoy some delicious, local wine. A day to remember, for sure!
MY PERSONAL TAKE ON LUXURIOUS ACTIVITIES IN DUBROVNIK
While I know most of these activities aren’t in everyone’s budget, if you can afford them, I’d highly recommend booking at least one. Almost any boat tour will leave you speechless, because the sea in Croatia is incredibly clear and beautiful. I especially recommend visiting the Elaphiti Islands and Mljet, or at least taking a sunset cruise for an unforgettable experience.
CONCLUSION: LUXURIOUS ACTIVITIES IN DUBROVNIK
These really are the best of the best, and no matter which one you choose, it will be worth it. There are plenty of other amazing things you can do for free in Croatia, including in Dubrovnik, so if you can, try to splurge on one of these incredible activities!

Wow, these all sound amazing! I think a food and wine tour and a sunset sailing adventure would be at the top of my list though. Thanks for sharing!
My favorite part of my visit to Dubrovnik was hanging out with the street cats in the courtyard of the walled city. These cats were so friendly. I wanted to bring them all home with me.
That’s ten more things to add to my bucket list
What a great roundup of fun! This is one place I have just never gotten to! Its o. The list!!
These all sound like amazing experiences. I love the sound of trying out diving, I can imagine the underwater world will be beautiful. I’d love to visit Dubrovnik so I can try out some of these. And maybe the day trip to Montenegro as well!
There are so many fun activities to do here and in the surrounding areas! Hoping to visit Dubrovnik this year so I can’t wait to book some of these.
Full day wine tour sounds so amazing.
Soo cool, i really like this place!
It’s been so long now since I was in Dubrovnik, it was still part of Yugoslavia, lol. I’d love to return and I really enjoy doing food and wine tours.
I love all of these suggestions. I think the sunset sailing and the Kotor bay day trip would be so awesome.
Dubrovnik has amazing architecture, sights and history. I spent a lot of time in Split last year. Croatia is worth a visit! Thank you for this post. It has encouraged me to visit Dubrovnik.
