BEST BOAT TOUR FROM SPLIT: MY 3-ISLAND BOAT TOUR EXPERIENCE

If you’re looking for the best boat tour from Split, this blog post is for you!

We recently did one of the best boat tours you can do from Split, and that’s a 3-island speedboat tour. It’s one of the most popular tours (along with the Blue Cave one), but if you’re not too set on seeing the Blue Cave, I’d actually suggest this one instead. It’s more enjoyable, there’s less time spent just driving in the speedboat, and it’s really all about enjoying the crystal-clear sea in Croatia.

We did this tour as a collaboration with Ria Tours, a family-run company from Trogir. Their reviews (5.0 on Google, 4.9 on GetYourGuide, 4.9 on TripAdvisor) already tell you it’s an amazing and very loved tour that people highly recommend.

You can book the tour on their official website and use the code KARLATYPES15 for a discount! If you still need some encouragement, keep reading to find out more about the tour. I’m sure I’ll convince you by the end!

TOUR OVERVIEW

This 3-island speedboat tour really gives you the chance to enjoy the best of the islands around Split. If you’re visiting in summer, the focus should definitely be on enjoying the sea as much as possible, and this tour is all about that.

You’ll have three stops, and each one is perfect for enjoying the water – first on the beaches of Solta, then at the Blue Lagoon where you can jump straight from the boat into the clear turquoise sea, and finally at Borkko Beach Bar where you can relax with a drink and still enjoy the sea.

Even if you visit in shoulder season like we did, it’s still a great experience. If you’re feeling brave you can go for a swim, but even if you don’t, the boat ride is really enjoyable, the stops are charming and much quieter, and the views of the Blue Lagoon are beautiful. The photos honestly speak for themselves!

You can take this tour from Split or Trogir, and there are both morning and afternoon options, so you can easily fit it into your schedule – and you really should add it to your itinerary!

WHY BOOK THIS TOUR?

Book this tour if you want a fun, easy way to experience island-hopping in Croatia. You’ll visit three beautiful spots, with the Blue Lagoon being the highlight. It’s the perfect mix of swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the sea, all in one trip!

BOAT OVERVIEW

The boats are amazing Mercan 34 speedboats. They’re modern, comfortable, and the ride is really smooth. They also have Bimini tops, so you can stay in the shade or sit in the sun if you prefer.

Each boat only takes up to 12 people, so it still feels quite private and not overcrowded. The atmosphere is fun, with music playing, and the ride itself (with the wind in your hair!) is something you won’t forget!

TOUR ITINERARY

The tour starts from the location you choose – either Split or Trogir. If you’re staying in Split, you can just join from there, or you can make a day trip to Trogir, explore the town first, and then head out on the boat tour. Both options work really well!

The tour lasts around 4.5 hours.

MASLINICA, SOLTA

The first stop is Maslinica, a charming little village on the island of Solta. It’s a small place where you can explore a bit, sit down for a drink or some food, or just head to the beautiful beaches and enjoy a swim. You spend around 1 hour here, which is the perfect amount of time for this first stop.

BLUE LAGOON, DRVENIK

Then you move on to the best stop of the tour, and that’s the stunning Blue Lagoon. It’s a shallow lagoon near the island of Drvenik, and because you can see the seabed, the water is crystal-clear and bright aquamarine. It’s not only beautiful to look at, but swimming here is an amazing experience. You jump straight from the boat into the sea and have around 1.5 hours to enjoy it!

BEACH BAR BORKKO, CIOVO

Your final stop is one of the prettiest beach bars in the area, Beach Bar Borkko. It’s the perfect way to finish the tour, where you can grab a drink and relax by the sea for about an hour. The bar has fun nets over the water where you can lie down, plus plenty of seating around the beach. In summer it can get quite busy, but it’s still a really fun stop to relax after all the swimming at the Blue Lagoon. If you still want to swim, there are also beautiful beaches right next to the bar!

WAS IT WORTH GETTING THIS TOUR?

Absolutely! This tour is one of the most fun things we’ve done recently, and we didn’t even get the chance to swim because we went in April. If you’re thinking about doing it, trust me, you’ll absolutely love it. To help you decide, here are some reviews from their GetYourGuide page. They’re really great, and I honestly agree with them!

Best activity to do in split !! Such a great day out so worth the money, the tour guides were super friendly and made the whole experience relaxing and fun 🙂 the blue lagoon, and both other locations were beyond gorgeous we got to swim in the blue lagoon and in the third location it was just perfect ! – Hannah

Our tour guides were so knowledgeable and we had a fantastic time on the trip. The day was beautiful (mid April 2026) and I would not hesitate to book again. – Abi

We had the best time on the tour. the guides were super friendly and knowledgeable, the communication before the day was excellent too. the amount of time at each location was perfect, not too little, not too long, and a smaller size boat was perfect. the boat was also super comfy. it’s been the highlight of our trip and I’d definitely recommend going with these! – Caryl

This was absolutely amazing and worth the money! It had to be cancelled in the afternoon because of weather but they made sure we knew in advance and put us on the morning boat the next day which was brilliant! Staff were super friendly and helpful, the islands were beautiful and the boat was comfortable and not overcrowded at all! Worth the money would 100% recommend! – Eida

FAQ: BEST BOAT TOUR FROM SPLIT – 3-ISLANDS TOUR

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE TOUR?

The tour includes transport to all three stops, plus water, coffee, snorkelling equipment, life jackets, storage space, shaded areas, music, and even a shower and fridge on board.

WHAT TO BRING ON THE TOUR?

Show up in your swimsuit and you’re basically ready to go. Bring some snacks and extra water if you want, and if you prefer your own snorkelling gear, feel free to take it with you too. If you’re visiting in the shoulder season, definitely bring a jacket because it can get a bit chilly on the boat!

HOW MUCH TIME IS SPEND DRIVING FROM STOP TO STOP?

Actually, it’s not that much driving! The longest stretch is about 30 minutes to Maslinica on Solta, then around 15 minutes to the Blue Lagoon area, and roughly 15 minutes back to Trogir or about 30 minutes back to Split. Most of the time is really spent enjoying the stops themselves (swimming, exploring, and relaxing) rather than being on the boat.

HOW LONG IS THE TOUR?

The tour lasts around 4.5 hours, which is the perfect length for a relaxed half-day experience.

WHEN IS BLUE LAGOON THE BLUEST?

The Blue Lagoon is at its prettiest shades in the morning during summer, and in the afternoon if you’re visiting in the shoulder season. If you have flexibility when booking your tour, it’s worth keeping this in mind!

DOES IT GET CROWDED IN THE SUMMER?

Yes, it does! Since it’s so beautiful, a lot of people want to swim in the Blue Lagoon. Thankfully, your skippers from Ria Tours know this, so they try to bring you there when most other tours are at different stops. That said, don’t expect to have it all to yourself, it is summer in Croatia after all.

IS IT SAFE FOR NON-SWIMMERS?

Yes! On the first and last stop you can enjoy the sea directly from the beaches, so you can walk in as far as you like and feel comfortable. At the Blue Lagoon, though, you enter by jumping straight from the boat into the sea. While it is fairly shallow, it’s not shallow enough to stand and touch the bottom with your feet in most spots.

IS IT WORTH THE PRICE?

Absolutely! This tour is really amazing and worth every penny. From the comfortable boat and friendly staff to the incredible locations, you definitely won’t regret booking it!

IS THIS TOUR BETTER THAN THE BLUE CAVE TOUR?

Well, that really depends on what you want to see. If you want to visit popular islands like Hvar and Vis, and see the famous Blue Cave, then this is the tour for you.

But if you prefer exploring less-known places like Solta and Ciovo, this Blue Lagoon tour is a better choice than the Blue Cave tour. Personally, I definitely prefer this one because it’s more relaxed, focused on enjoying the sea, and you don’t spend hours just getting from one place to another.

CONCLUSION: BEST BOAT TOUR FROM SPLIT

I truly think this is one of the best boat tours from Split. Ria Tours is a family-run company, and they’re very knowledgeable and professional, so you can really trust them to give you a great experience around the islands near Split. I can honestly recommend them without any doubts. If you decide to book with them, you won’t regret it!
