If you’re looking for a fun wine tour on Korcula, I have the perfect recommendation for you!

During our latest trip to Korcula, we decided to finally try a few experiences we never had time for before. One of them was this sightseeing and wine tour through a collaboration with Korkyra INFO Agency, and we honestly had an amazing time.

If you’d like to explore more of the island while tasting some excellent local wines along the way, this tour is a great choice. You can book it through their website, GetYourGuide, or Viator, but if you need a bit more convincing, keep reading to find out exactly what the tour includes and why we enjoyed it so much!

WHY DO A WINE TOUR ON KORCULA?

Korcula is famous for its wine production, and you’ll find some incredible wineries all over the island, especially in Lumbarda, Smokvica, and Blato. A wine tour is one of the best ways to experience Korcula’s most famous wines, like Grk and Posip, because you don’t have to worry about driving. You can simply relax, enjoy the scenery, taste the wines, and have a great time.

We honestly loved this tour, and by the end of it we were definitely a little tipsy, so having someone else drive us around was a huge bonus! It’s also a great option if you don’t have a car. Many visitors arrive on Korcula by ferry, and this tour lets you explore more of the island, visit local wineries, and enjoy the wine without having to rent a car or scooter.

WHY CHOOSE THIS WINE TOUR ON KORCULA?

This wine tour on Korcula is organised by Korkyra INFO Agency, one of the most reputable agencies on the island, with an excellent 4.7 rating across their activities.

The tour lasts around 4 hours and is done in an open bus, which means you get amazing views the entire way. You’ll drive through different parts of the island, from Korcula Town and charming villages to mountain roads and beautiful sea viewpoints, all while enjoying the scenery around you. The tour also includes stops at 3 local wineries that they have personally tested and chosen as great examples of Korcula’s wine tradition. You’ll get to taste some of the island’s best wines while learning more about local production.

Another great part is that your driver is also your tour guide, sharing interesting stories, history, and facts about Korcula along the way. So, you’re really getting a sightseeing tour, history tour, and wine experience all in one. You can book it through their website and if you use my code KARLATYPES5, you’ll get an additional 5% off the already best available price. You can also book it via Viator, or GetYourGuide below.

THE WINE TOUR ON KORCULA: ITINERARY

This is how the itinerary of the tour looks like and how you’ll spend the 4 hours of this experience. Each part was great in my opinion, and some parts definitely surprised us and completely blew us away!

STARTING POINT – KORCULA OLD TOWN

The tour starts in Korcula Old Town, but if you’re staying within 5 kilometres of the old town, you can also arrange a pick-up from your accommodation, which is a great bonus. The tour starts at 11 am and lasts until around 3 pm, giving you 4 hours to explore the island, visit wineries, and enjoy Korcula’s wine and scenery.

FIRST STOP – KORCULA VIEWPOINT

The first stop is an absolutely incredible viewpoint overlooking Korcula Old Town. I’ve visited Korcula quite a few times before, but I had never actually been to this viewpoint, and I have to say it completely blew me away. You’ll have a few minutes to stop, take photos, and enjoy the amazing views before continuing on to the next viewpoint!

SECOND STOP – PUPNATSKA LUKA VIEWPOINT

After some driving and enjoying the incredible scenery along the way, you’ll make a short stop at a viewpoint overlooking Pupnatska Luka Beach. I’ve visited this beach before and it’s actually one of my favourites on the island, but I had never seen it from this perspective, so this was such a great addition to the itinerary. The views are absolutely beautiful, and if you haven’t visited Pupnatska Luka before, I’m sure you’ll want to add it to your Korcula list after seeing this!

THIRD STOP – TORETA WINERY IN SMOKVICA

This was probably my favourite stop on the tour! Toreta Winery is a small family-run winery located in Smokvica, a charming village in the middle of Korcula Island.

I’ve visited Smokvica before, but the winery was always closed during my previous visits, so this was my first introduction to Toreta wines. And wow, they were amazing! We got to try 3 different wines, a rosé and two white wines, and one of them was so good that we immediately bought a bottle to take home (it’s called Principessa!).

We spent around 30-40 minutes here, and the winery has a beautiful terrace where you can sit, enjoy the views, and taste the wines in a truly relaxing atmosphere. It was honestly such a magical experience!

FOURTH STOP – BLACK ISLAND WINERY IN SMOKVICA

Only a few minutes later, we stopped at another winery, Black Island Winery. This one was a bit different because, unlike Toreta, it’s not a small family-run winery but a larger winery that produces bigger quantities of wine.

Here, we tried 3 different wines, two white wines and one red wine. They were all good, but I have to say the small family atmosphere and personal touch at Toreta definitely won us over a bit more. Still, it was interesting to experience two completely different sides of Korcula’s wine production in one tour.

FIFTH STOP – ADRIA WINERY IN KORCULA

Finally, you’ll stop at the third and last winery on the tour, Adria Winery. Here, you won’t only get to taste delicious wine, but also try a variety of local products such as honey, jam, liquors, sausages, and cheese. My favourite parts were definitely the wine, homemade jam, and the black chokeberry liquor! You’ll spend around 40 minutes here, and by the end of the stop, you’ll definitely be ready to relax after tasting so many amazing local products and enjoying Korcula’s wine!

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE DOING THIS TOUR

You need to eat a good breakfast before this tour! There is quite a lot of alcohol included, with around 9-10 glasses of wine throughout the tour, plus additional liquor tasting at the last winery. If you don’t eat properly beforehand, you’ll definitely feel it after just a few glasses. A good breakfast will help you enjoy the experience much more!

I also recommend bringing a bottle of water with you to drink between the wine tastings as well as a hat and sunscreen. Since you’ll be riding in an open bus, during summer you’ll be exposed to the sun from 11 am to 3 pm, which is the strongest part of the day. You won’t necessarily feel hot because of the wind while driving, but make sure to protect yourself and stay comfortable throughout the tour.

CONCLUSION: MY EXPERIENCE OF THE WINE TOUR ON KORCULA

We absolutely loved this tour! You really get to see a lot of Korcula, and every winery we visited was a great experience. This tour is perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to spend time researching wineries on Korcula and figuring out transportation between them. Instead, you can simply sit back, relax, enjoy the incredible views of the island from the bus, and focus on tasting delicious local wines. I highly recommend booking this tour once you’re on Korcula, especially if you want to experience the island’s wine tradition without any stress!
