Hello, my girlfriend and I will be coming to Croatia for 5 days in March for a trip. Since we will be staying with Croatian friends, we won't be paying for accommodation. We will visit Zagreb and Dubrovnik. What would be the minimum cost for our daily food, drink, and other expenses in the city? We are both students. Thank you 🙂

Hey, firstly I would suggest checking out this guide by a local in Croatia Is Croatia Expensive ?

You can easily spend 100 euors per day for food, drink etc. but you can also spend 30 per person if you decide to eat like students in Croatia which is at a bakery and one meal per day and usually you can find cheap lunches during 11am-1pm ( they have things called Gablec or Marenda when in Dubrovnik) it just means food which is fresh made in large batches specifically for that days lunch, this changes each day as they make the "gablec" from fresh ingredients for that day.

Is Zagreb Expensive ?

For restaurants in Zagreb and Dubrovnik check here so you can know which is best for your budge so you dont go to an expensive one. Also grabbing a pizza in Zagreb can be large enough for 2 people etc. You can really spend a little if you want to, unless you want to go to bougee restaurants.
