My family have booked a villa in Dugi Rat, was that a mistake? There doesn’t seem to be much around there to see and do. Not many restaurants or shops. There’s not much information on the area that I can find. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, this location similar to locations in Makarska region have great access to pebbly beaches and are located on the main coastal road so expect traffic if going in peak summer months. In Dugi Rat you have cafe bars, beaches, restaurants, markets Tommy & Studenac ( but I recommend going to larger store to get better prices) and lastly beach bars.

Things to do in Split

Dugi Rat as other locations as well are great for families and for relaxing, from there you can go explore Split or Omis or to take a ferry from Split to one of the islands.

Must See Croatian Islands

There is plenty of other things you can do, visit Krka National Park from there or go rafting in Omis etc.
