HOW TO REACH IT: TENERIFE AIRPORT TO PLAYA DE LAS AMERICAS

You have a few options to get to Playa de las Americas, depending on where you’re coming from.

TENERIFE SOUTH AIRPORT

If you’re coming from Tenerife South Airport, getting to Playa de las Américas is pretty easy. The fastest option is to grab a taxi. They’re available 24/7 right outside the airport, so you won’t have trouble finding one. Since it’s a short ride, it’ll be comfortable but not too pricey. You’ll get to your accommodation in about 15-20 minutes, and it will cost around 25-30 euros.

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, you can take the public bus. At the airport, look for the TITSA Bus Line 40, which will get you to Playa de las Américas in about half an hour. It runs every 30 minutes from the airport, and a ticket costs €3.70 per person.

Lastly, if you’re renting a car (which you definitely should, by the way), you can pick it up at one of the many rental companies at the airport and drive via the TF-1 highway. The distance is around 15 km, and it’ll take about 15-20 minutes to get to Playa de las Americas. The good news is, parking is free in town, so you won’t need to worry about paying for parking tickets.

TENERIFE NORTH AIRPORT

If you’re arriving at Tenerife North Airport, the journey will take a bit longer, but it’s still pretty easy.

The fastest option is, once again, a taxi. You can grab one right outside the airport in no time. However, because Tenerife North is farther from Playa de las Americas, the ride will be longer and a bit pricier. It’ll take around an hour to get to your destination, and taxi rides can go up to 100 euros.

For a budget-friendly option, there’s public transportation, though it’s a bit more complicated than from Tenerife South Airport. First, you’ll need to catch bus line 20 from the airport, which will take you to Tenerife South Airport in about an hour. From there, you’ll change buses and take line 40 to Playa de las Américas, which is another 25-minute ride. The total cost for this journey is €10 per person.

Finally, you can rent a car and drive yourself. Take the TF-5 and TF-1 highways, and you’ll be at Playa de las Americas in about an hour. Car rentals are available at the airport, and parking is free almost everywhere on the island.
