If you've visited other European countries, there's nothing particularly unusual in Croatia that might cause problems. That said, here are a few important things to keep in mind:

1. Always be dressed appropriately. Of course, you're free to enjoy the beach in your swimwear, but as soon as you leave the beach, you need to put clothes on. Walking around town in just swimwear can result in a fine. Also, be especially mindful of your clothing when visiting churches because modesty is expected.

2. Avoid excessive drinking. If you’re not getting terribly drunk, most other potential problems disappear. Issues like public urination and being overly loud are common complaints from locals. Try to be respectful of the people who actually live and work in the towns you're visiting.

3. Respect nature. Croatia’s natural beauty is the reason so many people visit. That means: don’t litter, stay on marked paths, and don’t touch anything unless you have permission. This includes plants, animals, and anything else in protected areas.

4. Keep noise levels down at the beach. People go to the beach to relax. While it's not completely silent, the natural sounds typically blend into the background, so everyone can enjoy some peace. No one wants to hear music blasting from a speaker while they're trying to nap in the sun. If you’re listening to music, use headphones and be mindful of others' space and peace. Of course, if you're at a beach club they'll be playing their own music so feel free to enjoy it.
