We're looking to book a ~8 day summer holiday, probably for either June (better weather) or September (like 5% cheaper) and are looking to fly to either Split or Dubrovnik, stay for 3-4 nights, then travel to the other and do the same.
We'd be taking 2 small to medium suitcases and then backpacks for day to day, and neither of us drive hence the preference to use Split and Dubrovnik as bases and we can then explore the cities and do day trips to other places.
Any tips and tricks, or must sees, especially outside of what I will find on Tripadvisor? Both very much into history, culture, and all things beautiful, less so clubbing / nights out but would be happy to look.
Recently holidays have been Porto to Lisbon to Faro, and a more relaxed trip to Rhodes last year so gearing up for another semi-busy sightseeing one this year.

Hey, using Split and Dubrovnik as bases is a great way to be able to see more. Although I would maybe still try to say to stay at least 1 night on one of the islands if you can of course.
