Hello, I have 14 full days not including flight days. Help me make the best itinerary. We are both late 30’s. If that helps decide. We are having grandparents watch the kids and taking off for 10 yr anniversary. Here are my 2 different thoughts of itineraries.

Flying into pula and staying 4-5 days in Rovinj and exploring Istra. Heading down towards the Plitvice and Krka for 3 days and then going out of split to the islands Vis, HVAR, Kocula. That won’t leave much time for anything else. We are flying home from Split.

Another option would be to fly into Venice and spend a day or 2 there and train/ bus to Rovinj. Spend 4-5 days exploring Rovinj. Going to the national parks for a few days. Heading towards split and go out to one of the islands for a couple days. Then flying home out of Split. Seeing if you had any thoughts on those potential itineraries. Thanks
Hey, in two weeks you can sightsee plenty and still be able to enjoy each place you visit. September is one of the best months to visit, due to lower amount of tourists but still nice weather, not scorching like in peak august or July.
You could sightsee Venice and then take a ferry to Pula or Rovinj

But tbh my choice would be the option 1 as there is really plenty to explore in Istria along side sunbathing and going swimming. 4 days is perfect amount to explore a city and also relax each day.

Brijuni National Park (Great visit if you are in Pula or Rovinj))
Split and surrounding island will be a different experience compared to Istria, also if you are able to rent a car in Pula/Rovinj and use it until Split and leave it there you would make your travel much easier and also visiting Natural park like Plitvice will be much easier than taking the bus, not saying its not possible just easier with a car.

When you get to Split you dont need a car to go island hop as you can easily use a ferry and public transport, but since you are staying for 2 weeks I would recommend also staying on one of the islands, unless you want to explore alot then Split as a hub is better as there are cities, national park Krka to sightsee etc, check list below:

You could also add Venice if you rent a car from Pula and drive to Venice but I dont know if the hassle is worth it. if you dont mind the extra travel then go for it. If you will have any other questions just ask!
