Hello. I will be visiting Croatia and Slovenia for 10 days in May of this year. We still haven't decided how many days we will dedicate to each country. We were wondering which is more beautiful, Slovenia or Croatia? Where should we stay longer? Also, is there passport control between the two countries or no?
Thanks very much!
Hey, both countries have its charm but generally in Slovenia you can expect beautiful nature at Lake Bled, Postojna Cave and Ljubljana, other than that I would spend more days in Croatia. This 10 day Croatia and Slovenia guide is a great starting point which you can edit to your desire. 10 Day Itinerary (Croatia & Slovenia Road Trip Itinerary) You can visit both with public transport easily but having a car gives you much larger flexibility and ability to see much more.Â
Also check this May guide to know what to expect in May as sea is not really warm so it will be hard to go for a swim while outside it may feel warm and sometimes hot in direct sun. Its great time for exploring tbh. before the school year ends and then families start to go for vacations. Croatia in May: all you need to know before visiting (Guide)
I would stay 2 nights in Slovenia and 8 in Croatia.
