Hi all,

I'm thinking about renting a car and island hopping from Dubrovnik -> Mljet -> Korcula -> Hvar -> Split in late March of 2026. I've went to a few websites but it seems like car ferries aren't in operation until the summer season? Can anyone confirm this and if so would it make more sense to just do day trips to each island from the mainland, i.e. Dubrovnik -> Mljet -> Dubrovnik, drive up to Split, and do Split -> Hvar -> Split? Any input will be appreciated!

Hey, the ferries are operational whole year long as people live on these islands, just not large amounts, during summer months the frequency of ferries increases due to larger demand. So yes you will be able to visit mentioned locations only thing you will need to plan when as there will be only few ferries going daily.

Regarding your drive up to Split from Dubrovnik check guides below and ask if you have any questions :):
