MY AMINESS SENSES RESORT HVAR REVIEW: SHOULD YOU STAY IN THIS RESORT ON HVAR ISLAND?

If you’re looking for a great, relaxing resort on Hvar, you need to read my Aminess Senses Resort Hvar review!

Most people visiting Hvar usually stay in or around Hvar Town, or sometimes near Stari Grad. But this review will show you that there are actually amazing places to stay all around the island, and Aminess Senses Resort is definitely one of them. We stayed here in April and honestly loved it. We were really pleasantly surprised both by the hotel itself and by the prices.

If you’re looking for a peaceful stay surrounded by nature rather than staying directly in the busy Hvar town, this could honestly be the perfect option for you. Keep reading to learn more about this resort!

HOTEL OVERVIEW AND AMENITIES

Aminess Senses Resort is a relaxing beachfront hotel located near the small town of Vrboska on Hvar. The resort is surrounded by pine trees and the clear Adriatic Sea, and honestly that was my favourite part of staying there. You really feel immersed in nature the entire time. It’s a great option for couples, families, and anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

The resort offers comfortable rooms, an outdoor pool, wellness and spa facilities, and direct beach access, which is obviously the most important thing! There are also two restaurants and plenty of activities around the resort. Because of its calm atmosphere and beautiful seaside location, it’s the perfect place to really enjoy the natural beauty of Hvar, and that’s exactly what we did during our stay in April.

CHECK-IN

Our check-in at Aminess Senses Resort was really pleasant. We were the only guests checking in at that moment, so the receptionist gave us his full attention, explained everything in detail, and even gave us recommendations on what we could do around the area after leaving our luggage in the room. The lobby itself feels very warm and welcoming, and overall I’d definitely rate the check-in experience as great.

THE ROOM

We booked a Superior Double Room with Balcony Seaside at Aminess Senses Resort and we honestly loved it. We expected a standard balcony, but we actually got a ground-floor room with a full little terrace, which we were obsessed with! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and had everything we needed. It was a bit cold at times, to the point where the AC couldn’t really warm the room properly, but since we stayed in April, that was kind of expected.

Because we were on the ground floor and had the terrace doors open, we did get a few bugs inside so if that bothers you, I’d maybe avoid a ground-floor room. Overall though, we were really happy with the room. We paid €180 for 2 nights half-board, which honestly felt like a steal. We actually paid more for just one night with breakfast at Radisson Blu in Split and were pretty disappointed, so Aminess Senses Resort was a much better experience for us.

THE RESTAURANTS

The resort has 2 restaurants, the main one and a beach restaurant. The main dining restaurant, Senses Restaurant, is where you go for breakfast and dinner if you’re on half-board, and they also offer all-inclusive options where lunch is included. We had both breakfast and dinner there and overall the food was really good. Breakfast had a lot of variety, but I did feel like dinner could have had a bit more choice. There were around 7–8 main dishes and sides that you could mix and match. It was still tasty, but I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it as much as the buffet at Hotel Pinija near Zadar.

The second restaurant, the beach one, wasn’t open when we visited, but it’s usually a spot where you can grab lunch or dinner during the day, and you can check more details on the hotel’s website. They also have a few bars around the resort, so you’ll always have a place to grab a drink or take a break.

SPA AND WELLNESS

Unfortunately, at Aminess Senses Resort we didn’t have access to the spa because they were doing electrical repairs, so it was completely closed during our stay. We did get to see the gym, which is fully equipped, and the outdoor pool area looked really nice, even though it was too cold for us to actually use it at the time. From what I saw online, the spa itself doesn’t look huge, but it does offer a whirlpool and massage treatments if that’s something you’re interested in.

BEACH ACCESS

The beach access is definitely the strongest feature of Aminess Senses Resort. It’s literally right by the sea, so you can leave your room and be in the water in just a minute or two. There are a few pebble beaches, and also plenty of rocky spots where you can easily enter the sea for a swim. It’s not your classic sandy beach setup, but that’s not really what you get in Croatia, and the water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming once the temperatures are right.

You’ll also find beach bars nearby, plus options to rent kayaks and other equipment, so there’s plenty to do if you want to stay active by the sea. I’d also say it’s a great choice for families, since kids can easily get into the shallow water and play around safely. We were honestly super disappointed it was too cold for a swim during our stay, but we’re definitely planning to come back in September one year to properly enjoy the sea here.

WHAT TO DO THERE

Aminess Senses Resort actually offers so many opportunities for things to do that you honestly don’t even need to leave the resort to have a fun few days. However, I’d still definitely recommend day trips to Hvar Town and Stari Grad at least.

From the resort, you can easily walk to Vrboska, a tiny and charming nearby town, or rent a bike and cycle to both Vrboska and Jelsa. Both are absolutely worth visiting. Around Jelsa, you’ll also find several beautiful beaches, and even options for wine tasting, which makes it a great little day out.

Back at the resort, you can play tennis and basketball, go cycling or walking around the peninsula, enjoy different water activities, relax by the pool, or just relax by the sea. The hotel also offers excursions, so you can easily organise trips around the island directly through them if you want something more structured.

MY HONEST FINAL AMINESS SENSES RESORT HVAR REVIEW

We really loved Aminess Senses Resort, and I’d definitely recommend it overall. I’d especially suggest it for people who want to visit Hvar but avoid the heavy summer crowds in Hvar Town. Here you can stay in a peaceful little oasis, and then simply drive yourself to Hvar Town, Stari Grad, or any other part of the island whenever you feel like exploring.

I would honestly recommend having a car if you’re staying here, because the resort is quite off the beaten path, and it makes getting around the island much easier. We really enjoyed our room, the stunning terrace, and the walks by the sea were unforgettable. I can only imagine how much better it would be in full summer when you can actually swim!
