MIAMI IN NOVEMBER: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE VISITING

If you’re visiting Miami in November and wondering what your experience is going to be like, my November guide is exactly what you need!

Miami is one of the most visited destinations in the U.S., and it gets especially popular in winter since the temperatures are still amazing. We usually visit the city in November, so keep reading this blog post to find out everything you should know before you visit Miami in November!

WHY VISIT MIAMI IN NOVEMBER

November is one of the best months to visit Miami, and we’ve experienced that firsthand more than once. The weather is perfect for beach days, swimming, or evening walks, and the city comes alive with events, including plenty of food and music festivals. The nightlife is as lively as ever, especially along Ocean Drive. The best part is that November is still the shoulder season, so flights and hotels are cheaper, and the crowds are much smaller!

MIAMI WEATHER IN NOVEMBER

Miami’s weather in November is one of the main reasons to visit. It’s the start of the dry season, so you’ll enjoy warm, sunny days with much lower humidity than in the summer. That makes it so much easier to explore and enjoy your holiday. Average daytime temperatures sit between the mid-70s and low 80s °F (24–28 °C), with evenings in mid-60s °F (around 18–20 °C).

There’s still a small chance of rain, but it’s rare. During our last visit, we only had one rainy day in a whole week. Hurricane season officially ends by late November, so the risk of storms is minimal. The ocean stays nice and warm, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and other water activities. Overall, when it comes to weather, I can’t recommend Miami in November enough!

WHAT TO PACK FOR MIAMI IN NOVEMBER

Packing for Miami is pretty simple. Days are warm and sunny, so focus on swimwear, cover-ups, and light, breathable clothing like cotton or linen. I usually pack shorts, shirts, dresses, and comfy sneakers and sandals. Evenings can get a little breezy, so a light jacket, blazer, or sweater always comes in handy.

If you’re planning to go out, bring something a bit dressier for rooftop bars or nice dinners. Don’t forget sun protection! Sunglasses, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen are a must. And if you’re heading to the Florida Keys, pack some snorkel gear so you’re ready for the water!

IS MIAMI CROWDED AND EXPENSIVE IN NOVEMBER

November is shoulder season in Miami, which means fewer crowds compared to December through early spring. You’ll find more locals than tourists, and there’s more space at the beaches, restaurants, and attractions. Things get a bit busier toward the end of the month, especially around Thanksgiving, but we always visit at that time and the crowds are still very manageable.

Because it’s not peak season yet, flights and hotels are usually cheaper, which is another big plus. Food and drinks can still be pricey, but if you’re on a budget, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars that won’t break the bank.

BEST THINGS TO DO IN MIAMI IN NOVEMBER

If you’re looking for the best things to do in Miami, here’s a quick overview of my favorite spots. But if you want a more detailed plan, definitely check out my Miami 4-Day Itinerary we did in November!

ENJOY NOVEMBER EVENTS

November is a pretty popular month in Miami, with plenty of fun events and things going on. Some of the most popular ones include the Miami Book Fair, URGE Miami Festival, and the Beach Polo World Cup. There are also several other sports and music events happening throughout the month, so you’ll always find something exciting to do!

GO TO THE BEACH

One of the best and most fun things to do in Miami is, of course, go to the beach. The beaches are much quieter in November, and most times we were there, only a few other people were around (which was perfect)! The most popular beach is, of course, Miami Beach, especially the South Beach area. We stayed right on Ocean Drive, and having the beach just a few steps away was absolutely amazing. If you want to explore beyond Miami Beach, check out Key Biscayne. It’s really close and a lovely place for a swim!

EXPLORE SOUTH BEACH

South Beach is the heart of Miami Beach and the liveliest part of the whole area. If you can, I’d highly encourage you to stay there. It’s full of amazing bars, restaurants, and shopping streets. You can play volleyball by the beach, ride a bike down the Boardwalk, or walk to the South Pointe Pier and enjoy the parks, beaches, and ocean views. South Beach really is the best part of Miami Beach, and you should give it at least a full day to see and enjoy everything it has to offer.

EXPLORE DOWNTOWN MIAMI

While I don’t find Downtown Miami as exciting as some other parts of the city, there are still a few great spots worth visiting. Bayside Marketplace is really fun, and Bayfront Park is gorgeous for a walk. You can visit a couple of museums, or even catch a basketball game or concert at the Kaseya Center. From downtown, it’s also easy to head over to Calle Ocho and explore Little Havana, which adds a nice cultural touch to your day.

GO ON DAY TRIPS

Miami has so many amazing day trip options you really should explore. Two of the best ones are definitely Everglades National Park (where you can see alligators in the wild), and Key West (perfect for relaxing beach days and snorkeling). You can also visit Key Largo or Fort Lauderdale, and if you’ve got a couple of extra days, go to Orlando to visit Universal Studios!

GO SHOPPING

You can do some incredible shopping in Miami. The city is famous for its shopping streets and centres, but I have to highlight two amazing outlet malls Dolphin Mall and Sawgrass Mills. Dolphin Mall is closer to Miami and a bit smaller, while Sawgrass Mills, about 45 minutes away, is absolutely incredible and has so much to offer. Visiting Sawgrass is honestly the highlight of my trip every time we’re there, and it’s especially incredible around Black Friday. They’ve got plenty of luxury outlets with amazing prices, so it’s a must if you love shopping!

MY PERSONAL TAKE ON MIAMI IN NOVEMBER

I absolutely love Miami in November, and it will always be my go-to month to visit. Every time we’ve been, the weather was perfect and there were practically no crowds. It’s honestly mind-blowing how relaxed and laid-back our trips feel when we go in November. On top of that, it’s much more affordable, which means more money left for Sawgrass Mills. Obviously, that’s a win for me!

CONCLUSION: MIAMI IN NOVEMBER

Visiting Miami in November is truly a treat. The weather is perfect for beaches, walks, and sightseeing, the crowds are smaller, and flights and hotels are a bit cheaper than in peak season. Miami really has something for everyone, from South Beach and Little Havana to incredible shopping and easy day trips to Key West or the Everglades. Plan your days, enjoy the sun, and don’t forget to leave some time to just relax, it’s a city that’s best experienced at your own pace!
