Hello, I'm visiting Split this summer and I was wondering what are some must dos and don'ts. I will have 5 days. What do I have to see and do, what day trips and islands would you recommend and is there something I should avoid?

Thanks

Hey, Topey, did you already book your accommodation in Split ? As you can easily stay for 5 days in Split but I would advise doing 2-3 days in Split and 2 days on an island like Brac, Hvar or Korcula. Hvar is better for younger people as its more lively and Brac and Korcula are better for families, and great for relaxing. Korcula has sandy beaches and Brac has one of the most popular beaches in Croatia.

On Brac and Hvar most of the beaches are pebbly.

If you do and dont want to stay on an island you can visit them with a ferry as day trips from Split, there is also Krka National park which is worthwhile visiting.

Marenda is popular term for lunch and many restaurants have this, these are usually 3-4 meals which are made from fresh ingredients in large batches so cost less if you want to save money but in Split Buffet Fife is amazing and has local dishes and is reasonably priced.
