Visiting Croatia and got quite intrigued about the blue cave. So I wanted how much time and money (most affordable trip) it would take to go from Split to visit and snorkel/kayak in the blue cave to Split the same day? Would it better to visit Blue Cave from somewhere else?
More context: I (22M) am planning a solo-trip for 3 days to Croatia so going to Hvar seemed like too much of a drag considering I want to see the Plitvice lakes park and Split, at the least. Any recos would be appreciated. Thanks 😉
Hey I found this very well rated tour on GYG it goes from Split and visits few islands, beaches, blue cave etc. for 83 Euros per person.
"Explore 5 islands in the Adriatic Sea on a 10-hour tour of Hvar, Biševo, Vis, Budikovac, and Pakleni. Go to the Blue Cave and admire its natural beauty and stunning beaches."

I just did a Blue Cave (+island hopping) tour from Split a few weeks ago. If I can remember, I’ll grab the link for the tour I did on GetYourGuide. It was about $240/per person for like 11 hours (and it was limited to 12 people, so it felt a little more ‘personal’ than the big ferry tours).
If you want to do a day your, I just did one with Gray Line Tours in Split. It was like 130 euros, they took you on a speed boat to the blue cave, then a couple different islands for swimming, before going to Hvar for a couple hours, before heading back to Split. It was like 730am-5pm. A lot of fun.
If you just want to do the Blue Cave and avoid the day trip parts, there is a ferry that takes you to the island where the blue cave is. Not sure if it starts in split, might have to go to Hvar or something first. You can't snorkle in the Ble Cave. They run their own boats through the cave, so once you get to the island, you get a ticket and go on their boats for a short tour of it.
Not sure if you could kayak yourself. But if you ferry their yourself, you just buy your ticket to tour the cave once you get there. If on a group tour, they bought the tickets once you get there.
There is apparently a blue cave close to Dubrovnik that I read you can snorkle or kayak in, but it isn't the same, not as cool as the blue cave near split.
The Blue Cave is on a whole different island 35ish miles off the coast of Split and they'll charge you 150 euros just to take a round trip and bounce in the Vis Channel.
Go to Vis, and ask a local.
Bare in mind, you cant swim in the Blue Cave, but you can in the Green cave.
Make sure to eat before getting to the Blue Cave. Don’t eat at the cafe. I was charged 24 Euros for 2 croissants and 2 cappuccinos. Cash no credit cards or Apple Pay.
