Hi! Looking for advice for our 6 night trip to Croatia in June for my family of 4. We were planning on flying into Dubrovnik and staying in old town for 2 days. From there, we’re trying to decide if we should take a ferry to korcula or hvar. We would be staying overnight and then take a ferry out to split where we will stay for 3 nights before flying back home. We won’t be renting a car and just be relying on public transportation and the ferries. Would korcula or hvar work better for our planned itinerary?
Regarding picking the island since you are on a family holiday I personally would rather choose Korcula as its more relaxing compared to Hvar and still has plenty of things to do, sandy beaches, great day trips, konobas with great food, day trips to near by islands or to natural park on Mljet. Or to a winery on Peljesac which is easy to reach with foot passenger ferry boat which takes about 15 minutes. Check the guides below for things to see in and around Korcula.

Since Korcula is on the same ferry route as Hvar you can do a day trip from Korcula to sightsee Hvar town and enjoy the island a bit before returning to Korcula.

On both islands you can use public transport to get around, its not as frequent as on mainland but you can always use taxis /uber/Bolt, for regular taxis arrange price before hand so you dont get scammed which can happen.
