SERPENTINA DE MASCA VIEWPOINT

WHERE IS IT:

Masca

WHY VISIT:

On your way to the magical village of Masca, you’ll drive along some of the most winding roads on the island. While they can be challenging to navigate, the breathtaking views make it well worth the journey. Serpentina de Masca viewpoint is a small viewpoint from which you can see the serpentine road leading all the way to Masca, as well as the incredible green hills and valleys.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach it by driving from Santiago del Teide to Masca. Once you get on the road to Masca you cannot miss it, just drive slowly and carefully. Parking is limited, so if you can’t find a spot on your way to Masca, try to grab one on your way back.

MIRADOR DE MASCA *

WHERE IS IT:

Masca

WHY VISIT:

Once you get to Masca, you’ll find plenty of awesome spots to take in the views of this charming little village from different angles. One of the first ones you can visit is the Mirador de Masca, just at the entrance of the village. From this viewpoint, you can take in the entire village, the stunning surrounding hills, and the iconic Roque de Catana.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

It’s only a few steps away from the village’s entrance, so all you need to do is find parking – either at the parking lot or along the road, and walk up to the viewpoint!

MIRADOR LA CRUZ DE HILDA

WHERE IS IT:

Masca

WHY VISIT:

This viewpoint is a few minutes away from Masca by car. Not only does it offer incredible views, but there’s also a restaurant right at the viewpoint with excellent food and even better prices. If you love restaurants with amazing views, this one is definitely it. They offer traditional Canarian food and drinks, so you can indulge in some local food while enjoying the view.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Once you’ve explored Masca, continue driving on the same road towards the viewpoint. There’s plenty of parking at the viewpoint because of the restaurant, so parking won’t be a problem.

MIRADOR DE EMIGRANTE

WHERE IS IT:

Garachico

WHY VISIT:

Visit Mirador de Emigrante for incredible views of Garachico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Roque de Garachico. It’s a lovely viewpoint with a small café really close to the town, where you can enjoy a drink with a view. At the viewpoint you can also see the statue “El Emigrante Canario”, made by a popular Canarian artist.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Drive from Garachico towards the viewpoint, it’s only a few minutes away. There aren’t many parking spaces so I’d recommend coming earlier in the day or waiting if the parking lot is full.

MIRADOR SAN PEDRO *

WHERE IS IT:

Los Realejos

WHY VISIT:

This viewpoint has some of the most stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean you’ll see on Tenerife. We visited in the morning and it was absolutely breathtaking, but it looks even more magical during sunset. There’s a restaurant and a hotel at that spot, so you can even enjoy dinner or a drink with absolutely mind-blowing views.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach it easily, just get off the main road once you come close. There’s plenty of free parking, but if you’re thinking of coming during sunset come a bit earlier to secure a spot, since most people visit during sunset.

MIRADOR TAORO

WHERE IS IT:

Puerto de la Cruz

WHY VISIT:

Visit this viewpoint if you want a really gorgeous view of Puerto de la Cruz and the Atlantic Ocean. This viewpoint is located in Taoro Park, which is worth visiting in itself, but the views add an extra reason to visit it. In the park you can relax and even sit down for a drink while enjoying stunning views of Puerto de la Cruz.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach it by car or by walking. There’s street parking right next to the park.

MIRADOR LA GARANONA *

WHERE IS IT:

El Sauzal

WHY VISIT:

This viewpoint is an absolute gem. It’s situated in a stunning park full of palm trees and different plants and flowers, making it incredibly charming. It offers incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as some black-sand beaches. There’s a small café and restaurant, Serendipia, where you can grab a drink or a meal and enjoy the gorgeous views of this viewpoint.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach it easily by car, there’s plenty of parking space in front of the park/viewpoint.

MIRADOR DE JARDINA *

WHERE IS IT:

Anaga Rural Park, near Las Mercedes

WHY VISIT:

This viewpoint is absolutely breathtaking! It’s located on the TF-12 road to Anaga Rural Park, and it offers stunning views of Las Mercedes and La Laguna, along with green hills, valleys, and even Mount Teide in the distance. There’s not much to do besides enjoy the view, but it’s a must-see. There are locals parked there who sells souvenirs and food and drinks in case you need it.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

To reach it just drive up to the viewpoint. There’s a small parking lot where you can park and enjoy the views. Hordes of people visit Anaga, so to make sure you can enjoy this viewpoint, visit before 11 a.m.

MIRADOR CRUZ DEL CARMEN

WHERE IS IT:

Anaga Rural Park

WHY VISIT:

While this viewpoint might not be as breathtaking as some others, it’s still worth visiting. Once you arrive to Anaga Rural Park, you can easily find this viewpoint at the end of the parking lot. You’ll get gorgeous views of La Laguna and Mount Teide, and then you can continue exploring Anaga and its many hiking trails.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

This viewpoint is at the end of the Anaga Rural Park parking lot. All you need to do is walk over to it!

MIRADOR DEL LLANO DE LOS LOROS

WHERE IS IT:

Anaga Rural Park, Trail of the Senses

WHY VISIT:

If you’re visiting Anaga Rural Park, you must hike at least one trail. If you choose to hike Trail of the Senses, you’ll find this viewpoint at the end of it. Mirador del Llano de los Loros offers great views of stunning green hills and even a glimpse of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Trail of the Senses is not an overly hard hike, and it’s one of the more popular ones. It takes around an hour to get to the viewpoint and back. Keep in mind it’s down hill on your way there, and uphill on your way back to the parking lot.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Park at the main parking lot at Anaga Rural Park and then hike the Trail of the Senses. This viewpoint is situated near the end of the trail.

MIRADOR PICO DEL INGLES *

WHERE IS IT:

Anaga Rural Park

WHY VISIT:

Perhaps the most beautiful viewpoint in Anaga Rural Park, Mirador Pico del Inglés is an absolute must-visit. This stunning viewpoint offers panoramic views of the Anaga mountain range, home to some of the most beautiful nature we’ve seen on Tenerife. You can also see the cities of Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Many people visit this viewpoint so beware of the crowds, but it’s absolutely worth it.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

After reaching Anaga Rural Park, continue driving until you reach the TF-114 road. At the end of TF-114 you’ll find this amazing viewpoint. There’s parking close to the viewpoint but it fills up quickly. If you don’t have anywhere to park, park along the road anywhere on TF-114. Make sure you don’t leave anything valuable in your car since the crowds are huge and there have been some break-ins.

MIRADOR PLAYA DE LAS TERESITAS

WHERE IS IT:

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

WHY VISIT:

If you want the perfect view of the incredible Playa de las Teresitas, you must visit this viewpoint. Officially, this viewpoint is closed off, so the gates are locked, but you can catch stunning views all around. Just please be careful as this viewpoint is right next to the main road to Igueste de San Andrés. From this viewpoint you can also get a gorgeous view of a black-sand beach Playa de las Gaviotas.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Drive from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Playa de las Teresitas and then continue up the hill towards Igueste de San Andrés. There’s no official parking lot up there, but you can easily park along the road without disrupting traffic.

MIRADOR RISCO AMOGOJE *

WHERE IS IT:

TF-134 road, Anaga Rural Park

WHY VISIT:

This viewpoint is absolutely breathtaking! It’s situated in the Anaga Rural Park and you’ll pass it if you decide to visit the village of Taganana or Benijo Beach. It offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s such a heavenly view, you won’t want to leave!

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Get off the TF-134 road, there’s a small parking lot where you can park your car and exit the car.

EL MIRADOR DE BENIJO *

WHERE IS IT:

Benijo

WHY VISIT:

Playa Benijo is perhaps the most beautiful beach on the island, so visiting this incredible viewpoint is just a must-do. Benijo beach is closed off from public due to rock sediments falling off cliffs, making it unsafe. However, even just seeing it from the viewpoint is absolutely breathtaking, and I would highly recommend it.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

There’s quite a crowd at this viewpoint all throughout the day, so getting a parking spot can be tricky. There are 2-3 smaller parking lots available, and there’s usually someone there to collect a euro or two for parking there. It’s totally worth giving a few euros for parking because the views here are truly unmatched.

MIRADOR ARCHIPENQUE *

WHERE IS IT:

Puerto de Santiago

WHY VISIT:

For an incredible view of Los Gigantes cliffs, Mirador Archipenque is the absolute winner. This viewpoint is close to Puerto de Santiago and it has the best panoramic views of Los Gigantes and the Atlantic Ocean. There’s not much to do there, but it’s worth stopping for a few minutes, especially if you love a good photo spot!

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach it easily; there’s parking along the main road where you can park for free and walk to the viewpoint.

MIRADOR DE MATAZNOS

WHERE IS IT:

Road TF-21 to Mount Teide

WHY VISIT:

This amazing viewpoint is a perfect stop on your way to the Teide National Park. Mirador de Mataznos offers incredible views of not only Mount Teide but the whole Orotava Valley as well. If you like hiking, this viewpoint can also be the perfect start to one of your hiking trails, since there are many there.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach it by getting off the road and parking nearby. There’s a small parking lot but even if it’s full you can easily park along the road.  

MIRADOR EL TABONAL NEGRO

WHERE IS IT:

TF-21 road, Teide NP

WHY VISIT:

If you want a really great viewpoint in Teide National Park, check out Mirador El Tabonal Negro. This is a scenic viewpoint at an elevation of approximately 2,300 meters above sea level. It’s absolutely incredible as it offers visitors a unique landscape full of dark, obsidian-rich rocks. You’ll truly feel like you’re on another planet here!

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Just drive down the TF-21 road towards the cable car. Once you reach it there’s a small parking lot where you can stop. The parking lot is often quite crowded so you might have to wait, but it’s worth it.

MIRADOR DE LA RULETA *

WHERE IS IT:

Teide NP, near Visitors’ Centre

WHY VISIT:

Mirador de La Ruleta is the most popular viewpoint in Teide National Park. The viewpoint is famous for its proximity to the Roques de García, a series of volcanic rock formations, with the most prominent being “Roque Cinchado,” often referred to as the “Finger of God.”

There are several different vantage points from which you can enjoy breathtaking views of these rock formations, and it’s the most beautiful spot in the park.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Continue driving down the TF-21 road, there’s plenty of parking but this viewpoint is the most popular in the whole NP, which means it’s a nightmare finding a parking spot. The crowd moves quickly though, so if you come and there’s no parking, just wait until someone leaves.

ZAPATO DE LA REINA VIEWPOINT

WHERE IS IT:

TF-21 road, after Visitor’s Centre

WHY VISIT:

This amazing viewpoint is called “Zapato de la Reina” because the rock formation there resembles a high-heeled shoe. You’ll also enjoy amazing views of the landscape around you, which looks truly otherworldly!

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

Drive towards it along TF-21 road. There’s a small parking lot where you can stop and usually it’s not crowded, so it should be an easy stop.

MIRADOR POR TEIDE

WHERE IS IT:

Near Santiago del Teide

WHY VISIT:

This viewpoint is located along the road near Santiago del Teide and offers incredible views of Mount Teide, especially during sunset. There’s nothing else to do there, just stop and snap a few photos of the magnificent mountain. You can also visit another viewpoint close by called Mirador del Teide, but I think Mirador por Teide has a bit of a better view!

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

To reach it, just get off the main road. This viewpoint is the size of a bus station so there’s no space for more than 2-3 cars, but people usually spend 5 minutes here, so the cars change rapidly.

MIRADOR PUNTA DE TENO *

WHERE IS IT:

Teno Rural Park

WHY VISIT:

Punta de Teno was one of our favorite attractions on this island, so of course the viewpoint was just as wonderful. This viewpoint gives you a unique view of Los Gigantes cliffs from a different perspective and the stunning lighthouse perched on a cliff there. At Punta de Teno you can enjoy this viewpoint, and many others while walking through the Teno Rural Park.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can reach Punta de Teno by car early in the morning or late in the evening, or by bus from Buenavista del Norte throughout the day.

MIRADOR ROGER PIEDRA GORDA *

WHERE IS IT:

Punta Brava, Puerto de la Cruz

WHY VISIT:

Punta Brava is the most picturesque part of Puerto de la Cruz, and seeing it from this viewpoint will prove that. The colorful houses and buildings of Punta Brava paired with the Atlantic Ocean look especially magical during sunset, but this viewpoint is worth visiting any time of the day. Make sure you visit the Punta Brava promenade which is perfect for a walk by the ocean.

HOW TO REACH IT/PARKING:

You can easily reach it by driving, or even on foot if you’re staying at Puerto de la Cruz. If you’re by car, there’s plenty of free street parking only a couple of meters from the viewpoint.
