FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

What are the must-see attractions in Miami?

Miami’s must-sees are South Beach, Little Havana, Wynwood Walls, Vizcaya Museum, and a day trip to the Everglades.

When is the best time of year to visit Miami?

The best time to visit Miami is definitely from December to April when the weather is warm, sunny, and less humid. That’s also when it’s the busiest though. I personally like going in November. The prices are better, there aren’t big crowds, and while you might get a rainy day or two, it’s still really nice overall.

What are the best beaches in Miami?

The most popular beach is definitely Miami Beach, especially South Beach. South Pointe Beach is another great option, and if you head a bit further out, Key Biscayne has some amazing beaches too. For the absolute best beaches, make your way down to the Keys!

Is Miami safe for tourists?

Yes, Miami is generally safe for tourists, especially in popular areas like South Beach, Downtown, and Little Havana, though like any big city you’ll want to stay alert to pickpocketing and avoid poorly lit or unfamiliar neighborhoods at night. We have never felt unsafe in Miami.

Are there good day trips from Miami?

Definitely! From Miami you can take some amazing day trips. Popular are the Florida Keys (especially Key Largo & Key West) for snorkeling, beaches, and island vibes, the Everglades for airboat rides and wildlife, and Fort Lauderdale for canals, beaches, and dining.

What is the nightlife like in Miami?

It’s great, and you get a mix of everything, from glamorous nightclubs in South Beach and rooftop bars with ocean views, to Latin music venues in Little Havana and trendy lounges in Wynwood. The city has something for everyone.

What local foods and drinks should I try in Miami?

Miami’s food scene is a mix of Cuban, Caribbean, and Latin flavors you won’t find anywhere else in the U.S. You’ve got to try a Cuban sandwich, stone crabs, and a slice of tangy Key lime pie. We also LOVE Mexican food in Miami. Don’t miss a strong cafecito (Cuban coffee) and a classic mojito.
