MOST POPULAR LOSINJ BEACHES

Cikat Bay

Cikat Bay is one of the most well-known and beloved beaches on Losinj Island. What makes it extra special is that it’s a sandy beach, which are quite rare in Croatia. That’s why this one is especially popular with families, non-swimmers, and anyone looking for a gentle, relaxing spot to enjoy the sea.

The beach is surrounded by pine trees, so there’s plenty of natural shade. However, keep in mind it fills up quickly, especially in peak season. If you’re planning to arrive later in the day, it’s a good idea to bring your own umbrella to stay protected from the sun. The sea here is shallow, warm, and crystal clear, and there are quite a few amenities.

Right on the beach, you’ll find Latino Beach Bar, a relaxing spot with a great vibe, tasty food, and surprisingly reasonable prices. If you’re in the mood for something more fancy, Hotel Bellevue is just a few steps away, with a beach bar and a restaurant.

There are public toilets nearby, as well as places you can rent out paddleboards, or even go diving. Overall, this is a great beach to enjoy if you’re visiting Mali Losinj.

Golden Bay

Golden Bay is another gorgeous beach near Mali Losinj, but it offers a completely different vibe from Cikat Bay. While Cikat is lively, Golden Bay is all about nature and relaxation. You can get there on foot, by car, or by bike. We chose the bike option, and it was amazing!

There are no bars, restaurants, or sunbed rentals here, amenities are non-existent. You’ll just find untouched nature, crystal-clear water, and the sound of waves. It’s a pebbly beach surrounded by pine forests, so you can either bring your own umbrellas and situate yourself right on the beach, or simply find a shaded spot under the trees.

The beach has a gentle slope into the sea, which makes it ideal for kids or anyone who prefers an easy entry into the water. The sea is absolutely stunning, and you’ll surely love your time here. Since there aren’t any amenities, make sure you bring food and drinks with you to this beach.

Camping Beach Cikat

If you’re in the mood for a livelier beach, the Camping Beach near the Cikat Mobile Homes could be for you. This beach actually has two sections. One part is a pebbly beach with larger pebbles, and the other part is a concrete beach with sunbeds and umbrellas.

The sea here is absolutely crystal clear, and you can choose whether you want a gentle walk into the water from the pebbly side or a refreshing jump from the concrete platform. Since it’s part of the Cikat mobile home camp, there are plenty of amenities all around. Those include beach bars, restaurants, and even kayak, paddleboard, and boat rentals.

It can get a bit crowded, especially with families staying in the camp, but the beach is open to everyone, so you can still enjoy it even if you’re not staying there.

Silver Bay

Silver Bay, located just on the opposite side of the Camping Beach, is another gem worth visiting. It’s absolutely beautiful and easy to get to whether you’re coming by car, bike, or on foot. The beach with crystal-clear sea is ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

The bay has both a pebbly section and a concrete area, so you can choose whichever you like more. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby, so you can easily grab food and drinks. However, there aren’t any sunbeds or umbrellas for rent. Be sure to bring your own umbrellas if you want some shade during the day.

Veli Žal Beach

Veli Žal Beach is probably the most popular beach near Mali Losinj, and for good reason. It’s especially loved by families with children because the gentle, pebbly shoreline makes getting into the sea easy and safe. The beach offers plenty of amenities, including sunbeds and umbrellas, a restaurant, toilets, changing rooms, and even a lifeguard.

Getting there is simple by car, with a parking lot close by. That will save you if you’re traveling with kids. Just keep in mind that during the peak summer months, Veli Žal can get quite crowded. So if you prefer a quieter spot, this might not be your ideal beach, but if you don’t mind a lively atmosphere, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Valdarke Beach

Valdarke Beach is a lovely spot located between Mali and Veli Losinj. It’s incredibly charming, with pebbles that gently slope into the clear sea and a few quaint houses nearby. While it’s mainly a pebbly beach, there are plenty of rocky areas where you can settle if you’re looking for some extra privacy.

You can drive part of the way, but the final few meters require a short walk or bike ride. Since there are no amenities at Valdarke, be sure to bring everything you’ll need for a comfortable and relaxing day by the sea!

Rovenska Beach

Rovenska Beach is the most popular spot near Veli Losinj. This pebbly beach has crystal-clear waters and plenty of natural shade from the surrounding trees. It’s easy to get to from Veli Losinj, simply by walking. While it doesn’t have many amenities, you’ll find showers, toilets, and a nice restaurant nearby.

The gentle, pebbly shoreline makes it perfect for families and non-swimmers, and it’s also a great spot for snorkeling and other water activities. Just be aware that during the summer months, it can get quite busy!
